Singapore, 2nd January 2008, Beijing Food Safety Administration collaborated with GT&T Engineering Pte Ltd to design a Food Safety Tracking/Tracing system to monitor and control the entire Olympic food supply chain. Food safety and quality are very important to the success of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Game.
The core system by GT&T Engineering System Pte Ltd provides a real time, end-to-end track and track system utilizing GPS, GPRS and RFID technologies developed and manufactured in Singapore. It is designed to track, trace, and monitor the condition of each tagged food from its manufacturing or harvesting places to the packing houses and from distribution centers to supermarkets, restaurants and Olympic venues to ensure safe and quality food are served.
GT&T Engineering has installed its integrated GPS and RFID hardware solution to track the food’s real time location, and its’ storage temperature in the warehouse and on the road, to significantly enhance the food security and visibility for the 2008 Olympic Games.
